David Ruiz

Photographer from Catalonia.

By chance, the opportunity arises. The trained eye discovers, records, edits and isolates. Lines, geometry and balance stand out in these urban scenarios loaded with an alluring and compelling energy. The harmonious balance between light and composition, describe delicate moments of undisturbed permanence. A fair essentialism characterizes David Ruiz’s photography,  implicitly evoking the possibility of an action. Positioned slightly below, from a modest and clear point of view, his work tells us that – nothing is missing here.

Stella Rahola

With a degree in Architecture by the school of Architecture in Barcelona (ETSAB -UPC), Stella Rahola developed her artistic work after being pupil and having worked in the Peter Zumthor’s studio, in Switzerland. There she understood the artisan part of the architecture. The poetry of how the materials can be treated together with the knowledge of the technique and its perversion, are the line that defines her sculptural work.
Stella has studied sculpture at the Massana Design School in Barcelona and she has specialized in the use of porcelain and glass. She has studied with the artist Xavier Toubes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Actually she has her studio in the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo El Piramidón, Barcelona. Stella Rahola combines the artistic activity with the academic life. She teaches and coordinates courses at the school of architecture (ETSAB).

Emma Woffenden & Tord Boontje

Tord Boontje comes from the design world of multiple production; Emma Woffenden from the experience of individual expression, the unique response.  Far from retreating into bucolic isolation, they are fully engaged with their very contemporary roles.

Transglass is an entirely practical project in which Boontje and Woffenden have used simple, straightforward design principles, glass-working skills and an ethical commitment to re-cycling and social fairness. Is direct collaboration between these two apparently very different personalities. It is a celebration of their common interests: in use and re-use, in light and shadow, and in sexuality, sensual experience, birth and death, passion and lament. In time they attracted the interest of several charities in supporting transglass’ sustainable production methods and also in putting it to work for social causes.
