With a degree in Architecture by the school of Architecture in Barcelona (ETSAB -UPC), Stella Rahola developed her artistic work after being pupil and having worked in the Peter Zumthor’s studio, in Switzerland. There she understood the artisan part of the architecture. The poetry of how the materials can be treated together with the knowledge of the technique and its perversion, are the line that defines her sculptural work.
Stella has studied sculpture at the Massana Design School in Barcelona and she has specialized in the use of porcelain and glass. She has studied with the artist Xavier Toubes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Actually she has her studio in the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo El Piramidón, Barcelona. Stella Rahola combines the artistic activity with the academic life. She teaches and coordinates courses at the school of architecture (ETSAB).
